How to prepare Moong Dal
Dal forms the most important cuisine in Indian food. The dal is prepared using various lentils and grams. These lentils and grams are excellent for health and at the same time they are delicious to have them. You can prepare the dal from various types of grams like – pigeon peas, masoor dal, black gram etc.
Soak half cup of split green gram for half an hour.
1 large tomato sliced.
Half teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Half teaspoon of chilli powder.
1 green chilly.
Garlic flakes – 3 nos.
Cumin seeds – half teaspoon.
6-7 curry leaves.
Add the soaked dal along with 2 glasses of water in a pressure cooker.
Now add the tomato, green chilli and coriander leaves.
Next add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
Now you need to pressure cook the dal upto 2-3 whistles.
Once the dal is cooked shift the dal to a kadhai for the seasoning.
Splutter the cumin and add rest of the seasoning and the dal.
Serve with rice or rotis.
