Things to do in other cities
If you’re a foodie this is a tour you’ll want to do. We tasted many different street foods and restaurant foods in old and new Delhi. We experienced many different types of local food and learnt how to eat the food and about the different flavour profiles. The guides spoke good English and were really friendly. We were given bags with antibacterial wipe and gel and bottled water. We didn’t get Delhi belly!! We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. Book away!
I had only 2 days in Delhi, but knew I wanted to experience the real India….through its food ! The guides were amazing and conveyed their love of the food and their experiences. Old Delhi was a treasure trove for small local eateries, and we sampled lots throughout the day ! I would thoroughly recommend the food tour to anyone who wants to experience Delhi and learn more about its culture.
We had an excellent time and couldnt recommend highly enough. We learnt a huge spectrum of interesting things with respect to the culinary history, present and future of this amazing city. Plus some great knowledge on the gustatory senses and why food tastes as it does! An experience to try before you die.
Would recommend! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I LOVE food tours and this one didn’t disappoint. I really enjoy Indian food and wanted to be sure I hit all the must-eats. It’s a long tour and you should be prepared to walk. It’s also very hot, but water is provided whenever you need. Definitely make sure to come hungry – there are so many food stops and everything is delicious, but make sure to pace yourself (our guide recommended only try a few bites of each dish). Our guide was great – personable and well versed on the food and culture.
We were so stoked that we did an Old Delhi street food tour. This is the India of my imagination…a myriad of wiring through old mansions and chaotic traffic. And apparently we were there on a quiet day! The food is great – and without a guide, you probably would feel quite intimidated about what and how to order – and whether it’s “safely” prepared. We had no GI issues afterwards. It is street food – so while it’s delicious, it’s pretty simple fare – don’t expect Indian fusion here!
